Bug Proof Insect Repellent Lotion - 50ml (50% DEET)

Bug Proof Insect Repellent Lotion from Nomad contains 50% DEET and it is intended for use in higher risk areas where insect bourne diseases are a real threat. It is serious stuff for serious conditions, and hence it isn't recommended for casual use, children under 10 or mothers to be.

Supplied in a 50ml pocket sized plastic bottle with a screw top lid and 'splash on' dispenser - perfect for slipping into a pocket or bag when you're out and about for the day.

Usage guidelines:

- normal conditions - reapply every 4 to 6 hours - typically, one bottle would provide protection for one person for one or two weeks.

- humid conditions or strenuous exercise (lots of sweating!) - reapply every 2 or 3 hours - typically, one bottle can provide protection for one person for up to a week.

Bug Proof Insect Bite Kit - Wrist & Ankle Bands with Neet Deet

The Bug Proof Insect Bite Kit contains a set of cotton wrist bands, a set of cotton ankle bands and a 100ml bottle of 100% Neet Deet. The Neet Deet is used to impregnate the wrist and ankle bands, which then provide protection to hands and feet. The bands can be used on their own in low risk areas, or as a back up to skin-applied repellent in hot and humid high risk conditions.

The 100ml bottle will last for up to 5 weeks if the bands are stored in the self-seal bag provided. The Neet Deet can also be used for impregnating socks to help keep ticks and leeches at bay and for treating hat brims and the edges of clothing, etc.

Bug Proof Clothing Treatment - with Permethrin

Bug Proof Clothing Treatment from Nomad is the only Permethrin based product available in the UK that is registered for use on clothing. Permethrin kills most insects on contact and hence it's ideal for treating clothing in tick infested areas. It can also be used to kill midges and mosquitoes and hence it is recommended by the UK Health Protection Agency for treating clothing in areas where there is a risk of malaria or dengue fever..

- contains 0.5% Permethrin (w/w)

- kills ticks, midges, mosquitoes and most other insects on contact

- supplied in a 100ml pump action spray bottle for easy application

- one bottle is enough to treat one outfit of clothing (shirt, trousers and socks)

Bug Proof Mosquito Head Net - Treated

The Bug Proof Mosquito Head Net can be worn on its own, although it's probably better to wear it over a hat to keep it away from your face. It is proof against mosquitoes and flies and the draw cord around the bottom can be used to ensure complete protection. It is treated with Permethrin - an insecticide that can kill insects on contact - and it can be retreated with Bug Proof Clothing Treatment as and when required.

Ideal for travelling or working in tropical and sub-tropical areas where there is a likelihood of sustained attrack by mosquitoes. Also good for protection from flies when horse treking.

Bug Proof Mosquito Net Treatment Kit with Permethrin

The Bug Proof Mosquito Net Treatment Kit contains the following items:

- 50ml Nomad Residex P Permethrin
- Measuring Cup
- Treatment Bag
- Two Pairs of Disposable Gloves

The Permethrin is sufficient for treating about 20sq metres of netting, which is roughly equivalent to one double net or two single nets. To use, simply measure out the Permethrin and dilute it in a litre of water in the treatment bag, put the mosquito net in the bag and leave for 2 minutes.

Permethrin is a contact insecticide - harmless to humans but lethal to insects that settle on it. Consequently, it can be used to improve the effectiveness of mosquito nets, particularly as it can also deal with any insects that do manage to get inside the net if they should settle on it again.

Bug Proof Leech Socks

If you've ever travelled through a leech infested area you'll appreciate the value of these Leech Socks! They're based on the design worn by the Park Rangers in Thailand and they stop leeches from getting into your socks and crawling up your trouser legs - a most unpleasant experience, and one to be avoided if at all possible.....

They are worn like over-socks inside your boots, and they pull right up over your trousers and above your knees. They can then be secured with a toggle and draw cord to keep out the leeches both above and below the knees, thereby offering double protection.

Nomad Expedition Poncho

The Nomad Expedition Poncho is a lightweight but waterproof poncho that packs away in a drawstring bag for stowage and portability. It has a hood with a draw cord, and it is large enough to cover your backpack and long enough to stop water dripping onto the top of your legs. It can even be used as a groundsheet, or as a temporary shelter for huddling under in the rain!

The Travelproof LED Hand Torch from Nomad is a tough little torch with an incredibly bright 0.5 watt LED bulb. It's made from anodised aluminium and the on-off switch is a spring loaded push button on the end. It is also waterproof (although it isn't designed for use under water) and it has a robust spring clip on the handle so that it can be secured inside a pocket or on a belt or strap.

The Travelproof LED Hand Torch is only 13cm long (5") and it weighs 65g - ideal for keeping in a pocket or bag, or handy somewhere at home, or in your car, caravan or boat. It is powered by 2 x AAA batteries which have to be purchased separately.
