EcoGuard Fabric Spray contains Pyrethrin - a natural insecticide derived from Pyrethrum which is extracted from chrysanthemum flowers (as opposed to Permethrin which is a man-made synthetic form of Pyrethrin). It is effective against a wide range of flying and biting insects - including ants - and each application lasts for several days.

EcoGuard Fabric Spray is ideal for application to all types of outdoor equipment such as tents, caravan awnings and sunshades. It can also be used on personal equipment such as rucksacks, but it hasn't been cleared for use on clothing or equipment that comes into regular contact with the skin.

The Permethrin is sufficient for treating about 20sq metres of netting, which is roughly equivalent to one double net or two single nets. To use, simply measure out the Permethrin and dilute it in a litre of water in the treatment bag, put the mosquito net in the bag and leave for 2 minutes.

Permethrin is a contact insecticide - harmless to humans but lethal to insects that settle on it. Consequently, it can be used to improve the effectiveness of mosquito nets, particularly as it can also deal with any insects that do manage to get inside the net if they should settle on it again....
