Wrist Band Info

Wrist Bands can often prove to be very effective at combating nausea. There are two main variants - those that rely on acupressure, such as Sea Bands, and those that use electical stimulation, such as the Relief Band or iTrans.

The key features of each of these products are outlined below, and further information can be obtained by following the link to the 'Frequently Asked Questions'. And finally, as always when dealing with nausea - if in doubt, check it out with your doctor first.

When feeling queasy help is on hand - so give it a go and try a Wrist Band!

Queaz-Away

The Queaz-Away "tummy tamer" wristbands are ideal for fighting off nausea caused by rough seas, winding roads, bumpy flights, or even chemotherapy. They're a non-drug aid that treats the symptom rather than the cause by exerting gentle pressure on the Nei-Kuan acupressure points on the wrists.

There are no complicated buttons or adjustments - you just slip one of the knitted elasticated bands onto each wrist, position correctly (it's easy to do, but instructions are also provided), and let the plastic studs do their work. The fabric is washable and can be worn either continuously or from time to time as required. They can even help prevent the onset of nausea if you put them on before a journey.

Queaz-Away wristbands are supplied in a pair (one for each wrist) and are enclosed in a pocket-sized storage case. They will fit most children and adults and are cheap enough to keep a few on board a boat for visiting crew members and in the car, just in case the long and winding road is a bit much for some...

Relief Band

The Relief Band is a drug free way to control the debilitating symptoms of Motion Sickness, whether travelling by air, land or sea.

The Relief Band is worn like a watch on the underside of the wrist, and it is comfortable and discrete. It operates by emiting low-level electrical pulses from two small electrodes which are in electrical contact with the wrist via the application of a small amount of conductivity gel.

The signals produced act via the acupressure point in the wrist to reduce or eliminate the feeling of nausea. It doesn't act on the cause of the nausea, only on the symptom itself which is why it can be used quite safely in most circumstances without any risk of side effects. The Relief Band can be set at 5 different power levels to ensure the right level of stimulation is applied, and when it is set correctly a light tingling sensation is felt in the palm of the hand and in one or both of the two middle fingers.

The Relief Band has an adjustable strap and buckle and replaceable batteries. It is also water resistant - which makes it ideal for sailing - and it has a sealed membrane touch control pad.

The Relief Band is supplied in a kit that includes a set of batteries, a tube of conductivity gel and full instructions for use.

Please note - this product cannot be sold to customers in the USA.

Relief Band - Spare Batteries x 2

The batteries supplied with the Relief Band should be good for 150 hours or more, depending on the power level used. However, for longer trips or for peace of mind it may be worth having a spare set of batteries handy.

The Relief Band is powered by 2 x CR2025 lithium batteries, and hence they are sold here in pairs. (Please note - these batteries are not suitable for the i-Trans, which requires 2 x AAA batteries.)

Relief Band Conductivity Gel

The Relief Band and the iTrans are both supplied with a tube of Spectra Conductivity Gel that is used to make electrical contact between the electrodes and your wrist. The tube supplied is sufficient for many hours use, but for extended journeys it may be wise to purchase an additional tube of gel.

Spectra Conductivity Gel is supplied here in a 60ml tube.

i-Trans Travel Sickness Relief Band

The i-Trans is similar to the better known Relief Band but there are several differences - first and foremost perhaps is that it retails at less than half the price!

It is also equipped with several additional features - it has a 'Contact Light' to indicate when good electrical contact has been made with the skin, and it has an adjustable massaging action that targets specific acupressure points on your inner wrist, in addition to the electrical stimulation.

Supplied in a kit with a spare set of 2 x AAA batteries and a tube of conductivity gel.
