How it Works:
As soon as the Kids Label is exposed to sunlight the animal picture in the centre of the watch changes colour. Comparing the animal colour with the purple in the marks around the watch face gives an indication of the strength of the UV radiation from the sun. This can then be used to gauge the amount of sun protection required as follows:
3 o'clock - Very Smiley Face - no protection required (but not much sunshine either!)
6 o'clock - Smiley Face - minimum protection required
9 o'clock - Neutral Face - medium protection required
12 o'clock - Sad Face - maximum protection required (but at least the sun is shining!)
Identification
There is space on the watch strap to write contact details or any medical information that may be required, and there is a lot more space on the back of the watch. A mobile phone number might be a good idea (not forgetting the international code if you're abroad), but the childs name isn't always recommended for safety reasons.
