About The Bug Bite Thing

As Seen on Shark Tank (America’s version of Dragons Den), the Bug Bite Thing is a chemical-free solution that instantly alleviates the stinging, itching and swelling caused by insect bites and stings. The reusable tool solely uses suction to remove insect saliva or venom from underneath the skin, making it safe for all ages.

What is the Bug Bite Thing?

The Bug Bite Thing is a handy little suction tool that removes the insect saliva/venom from bug bites and stings. Simply place the device over the bite with the plunger completely down then pull up on the finger handles. This creates a ring of suction that extracts the bites irritant right out. The suction is key. Two sized suction caps make it easier to reach in the hardest of areas. Hold the plunger for 10-20 seconds then repeat 2-3 times as needed. Use the Bug Bite Thing as soon as you notice the bite for it to be most effective, as the longer the irritant stays in your body, the more time that your body has the chance to react to it. By removing the irritant, the body stops producing the reaction that causes the uncomfortable symptoms such as itching, swelling and pain. That’s why it is recommended to have the Bug Bite Thing to hand at all times.

What types of bites & stings does it work on?

Mosquitoes, Bees, Wasps, Ants, & other biting insects that leave an irritant just below the surface of the skin. It also works great at removing splinters, thorns and bee stingers. If you are having a severe reaction, seek medical attention immediately.

Why can’t I get good suction?

Test the tool on your inner palm to ensure the suction is functioning properly. If using over body hair, wet the area before you apply the tool. If the bite is in an awkward place, or if it is a smaller bite, reverse the end cap to use the smaller side of the suction.

How do I release the suction?

Press down on the handles to release the suction. The tool is designed to not allow anything to be pushed back into the skin. This will also prevent the cap from popping off and combat any marks that may be left if pulled straight off.

How do I know if it has worked?

You can feel it working. The itching, swelling and discomfort will start to disappear while you are using it.

Where does the venom/saliva go once it has worked?

The venom/saliva is drawn into the removable end cap portion of the tool, which can be taken off and washed/sanitised between uses. Avoid getting the pump portion wet to prevent the tool from using its suction ability.

Is it safe for all ages?

Yes. Bug Bite Thing® contains NO ingredients, so it is safe for everyone to use. Please note: You have complete control over the amount of suction/duration you use. Children or people with more sensitive skin require less suction to remove the irritant due to their thinner skin. The tool contains small removable parts so it should only be used with adult supervision. You should feel no pain or pinching while using the tool. If marks are being left, too much suction/duration was used on that particular bite. Some areas have thinner skin, so they require less suction (how high you pull up on the handles) and duration (how long you hold in place). On more sensitive areas or if using on children, try using the tool at half strength or less for 5-10 seconds to start. You can always increase the strength/duration or repeat the process to achieve desired results. Less is more until you are familiar with the tool. We also do not recommend use of the tool on your face or neck as the risk from marks being left in these sensitive areas is greater.

How many uses can you get out of the Bug Bite Thing®?

Bug Bite Thing® is 100% reusable and never expires! We do recommend cleaning the removable cap with soapy water or an alcohol wipe between uses, ensuring the pump portion stays dry.

Can the Bug Bite Thing® help pull out a bee stinger?

Yes! The handles are specially designed to scrape out a bee stinger left in the skin. Never try to pull the stinger out because you might push more venom into the skin. Simply flick the stinger off with the scraper and immediately use the suction to draw out the irritant.
