What is the difference between the old NosiLife and the new NosiLife?
The main difference is the active ingredient. Where the original NosiLife had an active ingredient of Permethrin, the new NosiLife has a natural active ingredient of Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil.
As the new NosiLife ingredient is more versatile, it allows different fabrics that once weren’t able to have Nosilife treatment to be treated.
The old ingredient is an insecticide, the new one is a repellent, so it’s more effective at repelling insects than waiting for the insect to land first.
Is the new NosiLife as effective as the original NosiLife?
Yes, even though the active ingredient has changed, the effectiveness remains the same, if not better as the insects don’t dwell or land on the fabric, to reduce the chances of being bitten.

What is the new active ingredient?
Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil is the active repellent ingredient in new NosiLife clothing. The active ingredient is approved by the European Biocides Product Regulation.
The supply chain works back to the farmers ensuring the availability and sustainability of the active – for example insisting on only plant-based pesticides and fertilisers are used in the cultivation of the Eucalyptus tree stock.
The system is plant based, and waste treatment solution can go directly to the water treatment plant of the textile mill before re-use or discharge.
Is it safe?
Yes, Craghoppers have rigorously tested the insect repellent and odour elimination effects using third-party specialist entomology facilities and analytical companies.
All insect repellency test methods are based on World Health Organisation recommendations, and all testing facilities follow GLP – good laboratory practices protocols.

Will washing and ironing the clothing affect the treatment?
No – the NosiLife treatment can withstand multiple wash-wear cycles. For best performance always follow the wash care instructions and we always recommend not to wash anything over 30 degrees.

The best way to avoid insect bites is to cover up as much as possible and to apply insect repellent to any exposed areas. NosiLife clothing will then act as a further deterrent and will deal effectively with any insects that do try to find you to land on.
