Purple Turtle Leech Socks should be worn like a second pair of socks inside your boots and they pull right up over your trousers and above your knees. They can then be secured with a toggle and elastic draw cord both above and below your knees, thereby creating a continuous leech proof barrier.
Purple Turtle Leech Socks are constructed from a thin but tough synthetic fabric, making them perfect for trekking in the hot, wet and humid conditions that leeches love. They're usually available in several different colours and sizes and they're supplied with a draw-string bag for storage.

Size Guide - the right size for you depends on your height, not your shoe size:
- Short - approx 20" (51cm) long - suitable for children and adults up to about 5' 6" (1.68m) tall
- Medium - approx 22" (56cm ) long - suitable for adults between about 5' 6" and 5' 10" (1.68m to 1.78m)
- Long - approx 24" (61cm) long - suitable for adults taller than about 5' 10" (1.78m)
The size isn't critical - it's just a bit of a trade off between comfort and ease of use. The shorter they are, the more easily they stay up, although they may catch a bit at the back of your knees. The longer they are, the more likely they are to slip down a bit, but they're less likely to catch at the back of your knees.

||They stayed up well and I'm sure they would have worked. Actually, it was dry when I was using them, and I didn't see any leeches - but they made me feel confident anyway!|
Not tried these leech socks in the rainforest yet but on a trial walk around at home they seemed just fine for the job. Perfect length for me; I am 5' 10" so purchased the medium size. The overall fit was good for me and the adjustable drawstrings kept them in place.

I do wonder if the width could be wider on some pairs for users with a more sturdier calf than myself as my other half struggled getting them on as they were too tight.
||They had what I needed - practical leech-proof sock/gaiters - at a reasonable price. Leeches are less of a problem in West Sussex than in Amazonia, so I haven't tried them yet...|
||Perfect product as described|
||The leach socks are as described on the website. They appear to be of good quality, although I have not yet tested them in the field.|
||I was not sure what to expect as only one photo,I've had to make adjustments to fit my slimmer leg so as not to look too ridiculous. A very odd item, but as long as they work that's the main thing|
||NOT USED THEM YET UT THEY LOOK GREAT|
||Excellent product, both my husband and I wore these every day when trekking in Borneo, great fit and no leeches!|
||Seem to be good quality. Helpful that they come in different sizes. I'm 6ft tall and large was right for me. My wife is 5.10ft and she needed medium.|
||I haven't used them yet but they were much nicer than I thought they would be in terms of material and look. I am sure they will do an excellent job.|
||Looking forward to wearing them in Borneo this Summer.|
||Not yet tested in the field but good quality and feel comfortable.|
||Appear well made|
