Midge and Mosquito Jacket

The Midge Jacket from Pyramid offers the ultimate in protection from midges, mosquitoes and other flying insects. It is intended primarily for use in extreme conditions in places like Scotland and Scandinavia where insect attack can be severe and sustained, but it could also prove to be invaluable in many other environments as well.

The Midge Jacket provides complete protection from the waist up with full head and face coverage, leaving only the hands exposed. The wrists are elasticated to stop the little chaps from flying up your sleeves, and you can even tuck your hands away safely inside if you want to. The face shield can be unzipped and removed completely from the hood if required, and there is a zipped pocket on the front of the jacket for storage.

The Midge Jacket is manufactured from a tough polyester fabric with 400 holes per square inch. The material has not been treated with Permethrin or any other insecticide and it is washable. Supplied in a mini polyester stuff sack for storage.

Pyramid Bed Bug Sheets and Pillow Cases are made from a tough polyester fabric - similar to the material used for making mosquito nets. The very small hole size makes it impervious to most insects and the fabric is also impregnated with Delthamethrin - a contact insecticide - which should deal effectively with any insects that do try to make it through.

Pyramid Mosquito Net Impregnation Kit with Permethrin

The Pyramid Mosquito Net Impregnation Kit contains the following items:

- 50ml Permethrin (25:75 - 12% W/V)
- Mixing Bag
- One Pair of Disposable Gloves
- Instruction Leaflet

The Permethrin is sufficient for treating about 20sq metres of netting, which is roughly equivalent to one double net or two single nets. To use, simply measure out the Permethrin and dilute it with water in the treatment bag, put the mosquito net in the bag and manipulate it until the net is thoroughly soaked in the diluted product.

The treatment will remain effective for 4 to 6 months if the net is used daily without washing it. If the net is washed monthly it will remain effective for 2 or 3 months, and if it is washed weekly it will remain effective for about a month.
